I Finally Got Covid

Y’all, I made it all the way to mid 2025 before I finally got Covid. I’ll tell you, 0/10 do not recommend. It has not been a fun week for me.

Sunday night I started getting a sore throat around bedtime. I honestly thought it was allergies because I had mowed the lawn earlier that day.

Monday morning, I woke up all congested and feeling achy. I decided to take my temperature, even though I haven’t had a fever in years. Sure enough, my temperature was 99.5. Not bad, but not my normal. I waited a bit and took my temperature again and it was up to 100.7. I immediately thought I had the flu, because silly me, I missed getting my flu shot this year.

I happened to have a Covid test on hand and figured I’d take it just to rule it out…it was positive. Then, I noticed it expired in 2023 so I was hoping it was a false positive. I quickly ordered more tests and retested Tuesday morning. Still positive. So, Covid finally got me!

I’ve been lucky. Aside from the fever on Monday, which was gone by Tuesday morning, this has really just been like a bad head cold.
